Sell your pieces and have fun with it!

Hello! I hope you’re well.

I’d like start with a new series of posts here on the blog. With so many projects happening at the studio, I thought it was a shame not to open a mini-window so you can take a look at what’s happening in our coworkers’ kilns!

I will share here the interviews we do with our ceramic artists and I start with a very cool colleague, with a surname that is unpronounceable for us Romance language speakers: AAron Kllc (how do you pronounce a word composed only of consonants and without a vowel??).

Aaron Kllc (@AaronKllc) is a sculptor and artist born in San Francisco, California.

He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. After spending years designing furniture, lamps, paintings, sculptures and floral arrangements, he decided to combine all of his talents into his vocation as an interior designer.

Currently his work focuses on making ceramic sculptures and lamps and he lives in Barcelona. His work is in private collections in the United States and Europe. He sells through galleries and stores on the west coast of California.

What inspires you in your ceramic projects?

I am passionate about ceramists from the 50s and 60s. For example, Vera Szekely, Elisabeth Joulia, Valentine Schlegel and Georges Jouve, to name a few.

I am also passionate about ceramic marketing and teaching other artists how to sell their work. There are so many talented artists who don’t know how to do it and get discouraged. It’s very easy when you make a plan and follow it. Come and see for yourself!

I love being at ElTorn because of the diversity. Ceramists of all ages and all with different skills and nationalities. It is a very dynamic workplace.

Aaron teaches a workshop on marketing aimed at ceramics. Don’t miss it! I leave you here the link to the details of the workshop.

Important: this masterclass is held in English.

un abrazo! Paula
