This is what you’ll learn in this course
The goal of this pottery workshop is to give you a complete introduction to the main techniques of working with clay: hand building and the wheel throwing.
This workshop is distributed into 5 days – Monday to Wednesday you’ll work on the wheel; Thursday and Friday on hand building. Then we’ll teach you how to glaze your pieces.
In the WHEEL THROWING portion you’ll learn the first steps of working on the electric wheel: how the center the clay and how throw the main shapes (cylinders and bowls). A selection of your best pieces, chosen by you, will be fired by our team.
In the HAND BUILDING party you’ll learn the 2 most used manual techniques of construction of pieces: slabs and coiling. With these techniques we’ll make a breakfast set with a mug, bowl and plate The complete set will be fired by our team.
And on the assigned Friday, you’ll learn how to glaze your breakfast set and your selection of thrown pieces. You can collect your finished pieces within 2 weeks after the glazing class. All pieces are suitable for everyday use (and they’re very brave – they are not afraid of the microwave nor the dishwasher!).
No previous experience needed!
You just need to bring old clothes and shoes to change – all the rest is up to us.

THIS COURSE INCLUDES:
- Stoneware clay, tools, firings and glazes.
- you can pick up your pieces 2 weeks after the glaze class (if you live abroad, shipping can be arranged – shipping costs apply; paid upfront by PayPal).
For better personal tutoring we admit max. 6 students per class (respecting social distance and the wear of masks). The courses will take place with a minimum of 4 students. For groups of 4 or more students we can arrange special dates/schedules and programs.
