This is what you’ll learn in this course
Learn how to make your own decal using silkscreen techniques to transfer images and marks to decorate your ceramics.
We’ll explore methods to awaken the creative process and design, using simple exercises with words and association of ideas, to turn them into patterns, images and concepts, which you’ll use to decorate your pieces. After this exercise you’ll have your own library of marks and drawings to access easily when in need of inspiration.
We’ll visit a screen printing studio (close by our studio) and you’ll learn how screens are made.
And you’ll keep our own screen with your own design, for further uses!
A basic knowledge in pottery is necessary. You’ll need to know how to manipulate stoneware clay.
Program:
o Explanation, demonstration and Praxis of silkscreen technique on newsprint (decals)
o Preparation and printing the decals
o Based on explored designs, block-paint a silkscreen piece and print your motif
o Transfer all printed designs on pieces prepared by the studio
o Finish workshop with questions and answers.

o notebook
o Pen and pencil
o Brushes
o Eventual photo or image you would like to explore
