Handbuilding weekly course
120,00€ /month
Inscription fee: 30€
Classes of 2 hours a week
Ongoing ceramic handbuilding course for all levels. Learn pinch, slab, coil and hollowing techniques to create functional and decorative ceramics, including glazing and surface decoration.
Handbuilding is one of the most creative and direct ways to work with clay.
All you need is clay, a few basic tools and your hands to start building ceramic pieces. Unlike wheel throwing, handbuilding allows more freedom to explore forms while learning the techniques step by step.
In our ongoing ceramic handbuilding course, you will follow a structured program adapted to your level, whether you are starting from scratch or already have experience.
Classes are 2 hours per week, and during the course you will learn the main ceramic construction techniques: pinch, slab, coil and hollowing. With these techniques you will be able to create both functional pieces (bowls, cups, serving dishes, teapots) and decorative objects (vases, boxes, ikebana containers and more).
You will also explore a variety of surface and decoration techniques, including carving, engobes, wax resist, textures and glazing, allowing you to develop your own visual language in clay.
If you are a beginner, we will guide you step by step through the foundations of handbuilding.
If you already have experience, you will refine your skills and explore more advanced construction and decoration techniques.
The minimum enrollment is 3 months, allowing enough time to progress through the program and complete your pieces.
We work exclusively with high-temperature stoneware and glazes suitable for functional ceramics, so the pieces you create can be used in everyday life.
Classes are taught by bilingual instructors (Spanish / English).
