This course is designed to take you from zero to a solid intermediate level in pottery wheel throwing, following a clear, progressive and practical program. It’s divided into two modules, designed so you first build a strong technical foundation and then progress towards more complex forms.
In module 1, you will learn the fundamentals of the pottery wheel:
centering clay —the most important skill—, throwing basic forms such as cylinders and bowls, and trimming your pieces to refine and finish them.
In module 2, you will move towards an intermediate level, working on more complex forms and developing greater technical control.
Throughout the course, you will also learn how to glaze your pieces, completing the full ceramic process.
We work with high-temperature stoneware and glazes suitable for everyday use, so the pieces you create can become part of your daily life.
No previous experience is required.

No previous experience is required.
What you will learn in this course
In module 1, you will learn to center (the most important skill in wheel throwing), throw (shape the piece) and trim (finish it and create the foot) different forms:
✅ Cylinders (the base of any piece),
✅ Bowls,
✅ Narrow-neck forms
✅ You will learn how to attach handles…
And in module 2, we will take you to the next level in wheel throwing. This is what you will learn:
✅ Review of centering: how to center larger amounts of clay
✅ Lidded pieces
✅ Closed forms
✅ Open forms
✅ Medium-sized pieces
✅ Clay wedging and recycling.
A selection of 6 pieces from module 1 and 2 pieces from module 2 (all chosen by you) will be fired. On the assigned Friday, you will learn some ceramic glazing techniques to decorate and finish your pieces.
You will be able to collect your finished pieces within 2 weeks after the glazing session. All pieces are suitable for everyday use (and very brave — they are not afraid of the microwave or the dishwasher!).
Price: 490€/all included.
Schedule: Module 1: Monday to Thursday; Module 2: Monday to Wednesday both taking place from 10 am to 2 pm. Dates throughout the year.
Glazing class: Friday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Date to be confirmed.
