Learn to formulate high temperature textured glazes
Perhaps you already use high-temperature glazes.
But the results are always predictable.
Correct surfaces, but without depth.
Without tension. Without surprise. Without material presence.
Material glazes are not mastered simply by applying them.
They are mastered by understanding them. Modifying them. Testing them.
We offer an intensive workshop where you will investigate, in a practical and structured way, the behavior of material glazes fired at 1250ºC.
Taught exclusively by ceramic artist Montse Llanas.
This workshop is ideal for:
✅ Ceramic artists who work or want to work at high temperature
✅ Artists seeking material and textural surfaces
✅ Ceramicists who want to develop their own glazes
✅ Participants with basic knowledge who want to deepen their understanding
✅ Artists who want to expand their surface language
Limited to 8 participants to ensure individual attention.
This is not just a glaze course.
It is a way of understanding how to build ceramic surfaces with intention, depth, and control.
You won’t be working from theoretical formulas.
You’ll be working from real results.
This workshop can mark a turning point in your ceramic practice
✅You’ll stop depending on fixed recipes and begin making informed decisions about the surfaces of your work.
✅You’ll understand why a glaze crawls, why it creates craters, or why it remains stable.
✅This will allow you to develop surfaces that are truly your own, aligned with your artistic language
✅Your ceramics will gain visual depth, material complexity, and a stronger personal identity.
This workshop is held in Spanish only.
You will learn:
✅ How to modify high-temperature glazes and frits
You’ll understand how to alter existing bases to generate new material behaviors.
✅ How to create crawling glazes
Learn which elements produce surface tension and how to control the effect.
✅ Create volcanic glazes and active surfaces
You will discover how to generate craters, relief, and dynamic textures.
✅ Which materials produce material effects and why
Understand the role of different oxides, frits, and modifiers.
✅ How to correctly color material glazes
You will select glaze bases and experiment with colorants and oxides to expand visual possibilities.
✅ Analyze results after firing
✅ Learn through direct experimentation
On the final day, you will analyze the results after firing at 1250ºC — one of the most important moments of the process: understanding what happened and why.
Price : 375€/all included.
Dates : Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May from 10am a 6pm
