Is this your first time on the wheel? Or you already throw but still struggles with the centering? Give us few days and we’ll teach you everything you need to know to center throw and trim different shapes!
There is something almost hypnotic about the pottery wheel.
A block of clay spins… and slowly begins to transform under your hands.But anyone who has tried it knows the truth: the key is learning the right technique from the beginning.
In this intensive course you will learn the essential skills of wheel throwing step by step, from centering clay —the most important skill on the wheel— to shaping different functional forms. Through hands-on practice you will develop the confidence and control needed to throw your own ceramic pieces.
You will learn how to create cylinders, bowls and narrow-neck forms, as well as how to trim and add handles. We work with high-temperature stoneware and non-toxic glazes suitable for functional ceramics.
No previous experience is required.

This is a 100% hands-on course designed to help you develop control and confidence on the wheel.
A selection of your best pieces (6 pieces, chosen by you) will be fired and glazed so you can use them in your everyday life.
They can be collected three weeks after the course date.
If you prefer, you can also sign up for a glazing class and learn how to glaze your own pieces.
