2 Saturdays: 17th and 31st January 2026
2 techniques in 1: learn to reproduce identical pieces, and get each one decorated creatively working with colored porcelain slip.
Multiply a single form as many times as you wish… and have every copy come out already decorated, ready for the kiln.
In this workshop you will learn a surprisingly creative and efficient method:
to create your own one-piece plaster mold and transform it into a decoration tool, using coloured porcelain slip.
All of this guided by ceramic artist Helena Civit, who will accompany you step by step so you can achieve professional results—even if you’ve never made a mold before.
Why is this course special?
Because you won’t just learn how to make a mold… you’ll learn how to use the mold as part of your creative process.
A mold that faithfully reproduces forms.
A mold that also decorates the piece from the very first moment.
A process that saves time, multiplies possibilities, and allows you to create series with a unique identity.
It is one of the most versatile techniques for those who want to produce original pieces with a distinctive finish.
What you will learn: to make a one-piece plaster mold to easily reproduce original forms, and to manipulate the mold so that each piece comes out already decorated, using coloured porcelain slip.
This workshop is taught by ceramic artist Helena Civit.
To achieve this, you will learn to:
– analyse the chosen piece to determine its suitability for mold-making
– calculate how much plaster is needed for the mold
– build the casing for pouring the plaster
– prepare porcelain slip correctly
– cast into your own mold
– alter the mold for different decorative techniques
You may choose a piece proposed by Helena, or send us a photo of the piece you’d like to reproduce so we can confirm whether its shape works with this technique.
