Wheel throwing weekend BEGINNERS
155,00€
The pottery wheel is one of the most fascinating ceramic techniques.
Watching a block of clay transform under your hands while spinning is an experience many people fall in love with.
In this intensive weekend pottery wheel course, you will learn the essential foundations of wheel throwing, even if you have never used a wheel before.
Throughout the workshop you will learn the first steps of wheel work: wedging clay, centering it on the wheel and throwing the fundamental ceramic forms —cylinders and bowls—. These shapes are the foundation of most functional pottery.
You will also learn how to trim pieces and explore simple surface textures, helping you understand how to refine and personalize your work.
We work with high-temperature stoneware and glazes suitable for functional ceramics, so the pieces you make can be used in everyday life.
Why you should take this workshop
The pottery wheel can feel intimidating at first. Clay moves, changes shape and can seem difficult to control.
But once you learn the correct movements —especially centering the clay— everything starts to make sense.
