Porcelain Jewelry – Necklaces and broches, with Luca Tripaldi<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The possibility of creating jewelry that combines delicacy, strength, and elegance.
Lightweight, sophisticated, and durable pieces, with a finish that needs no embellishment to stand out.<\/p>\n

That is what porcelain offers.<\/p>\n

This workshop is designed as an excellent first approach to porcelain, working in small formats to gain a deep understanding of the material: how it behaves, how it is shaped, how it dries, and how it transforms in the kiln.<\/p>\n

Everything you learn here can later be applied to larger-scale pieces, if your interest goes beyond jewelry.<\/p>\n

Why porcelain for jewelry?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2705 It is a noble material, vitrified at high temperature and extremely strong
\u2705 Its whiteness and texture are pleasant even when unglazed
\u2705 It allows for elegant, contemporary, and long-lasting finishes
\u2705 It is ideal for ceramic jewelry thanks to its lightness and durability
\u2705 Many of its techniques can be easily transferred to larger objects (functional ware, wall pieces, sculptures)<\/p>\n

Who is it for<\/strong><\/p>\n

This course is aimed at jewelers, ceramic artists, and accessory lovers.
No previous experience is required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

About the instructor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Luca Tripaldi<\/strong> is an Italian artist born in Turin, where he currently lives and works.
He spent a decade as a sculptor at the Mario Audello Studio<\/strong>, collaborating in the creation of masks and special effects for prestigious theaters such as La Scala in Milan<\/strong> and the Arena di Verona<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

His work ranges from sculpture to contemporary jewelry, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative approaches.
Since 2011, he has integrated electroforming<\/strong> into his creations.<\/p>\n

Luca teaches workshops across Europe and the United States<\/strong>, and in Spain, exclusively here at ElTorn<\/strong>.

Program<\/h3>\n

Saturday<\/strong>
\u2705 9:30 \u2013 13:00: Creating flat-link chains from slabs and chains made with extruded coils.
\u2705 13:00 \u2013 13:30: Short lunch break.
\u2705 13:30 \u2013 17:00: Continued work; overnight bisque firing of the pieces (900 \u00b0C), allowing the kiln to be opened the following morning.<\/p>\n

Sunday<\/strong>
\u2705 9:30 \u2013 13:00: Finishing the chains with sandpaper; shaping porcelain elements for pendants and brooches; demonstration of brooch assembly systems (without using glue).
\u2705 13:00 \u2013 13:30: Short lunch break.
\u2705 13:30 \u2013 17:00: Finishing the pieces.<\/p>\n

Finished pieces will require slow drying before the final firing. Students will be able to collect their pieces once fired, one week after the workshop.<\/p>\n
