This is not ceramics.
And it is not jewelry either.<\/h3>\n

It is the exact point where both materials stop behaving as you expect.<\/p>\n

Electroforming<\/strong> is a process that allows you to coat parts of a piece with metal,<\/strong> as if you were \u201cpainting\u201d your piece with metal \u2014 but instead of a brush, we use electricity. We will use copper.<\/p>\n

We work with high-temperature clay: stoneware or porcelain.<\/p>\n

This is not a finish.<\/strong>
It’s a transformation of the object.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this 3-day intensive workshop, you will learn this technique from the ground up: you will create your own porcelain pieces and transform them through a copper electroforming process.<\/p>\n

The result is not only aesthetic.
It is a piece that exists in a different place \u2014between ceramics, jewelry and sculpture.<\/p>\n

You will work in small format, understanding each stage of the process so you can later integrate it into your own practice.<\/p>\n

No previous experience is required.
But curiosity to take your work to another level is essential.<\/p>\n

Meet the instructor<\/h3>\n

Taught by Luca Tripaldi,<\/a> an Italian artist born in Turin, where he currently lives and works. He spent a decade as a sculptor in the Mario Audello studio, collaborating on the creation of masks and special effects for prestigious theatres such as La Scala in Milan and the Arena di Verona.<\/p>\n

His work ranges from sculpture to contemporary jewelry, combining traditional techniques with avant-garde approaches. Since 2011, he has incorporated electroforming into his practice.<\/p>\n

Luca teaches workshops across Europe and the United States, and exclusively in Spain here at Eltorn. We are delighted to welcome him back to our space.<\/p>\n

We will provide you with a list of specific suppliers so you can easily source everything you need to continue experimenting with this practice. It does not require large investments in materials or space \u2014 you can set it up in just 50 cm! It also produces no toxic fumes, so you can safely install it in your workspace.<\/p>\n

You will complete the full process: from ceramic piece to finished jewelry.<\/p>\n

This workshop will be taught in English and Spanish.<\/p>\n
