This course is designed to take you from zero to a solid intermediate level in pottery wheel throwing<\/strong>, following a clear, progressive and practical program. It’s divided into two modules<\/strong>, designed so you first build a strong technical foundation and then progress towards more complex forms.<\/p>\n

In module 1<\/strong>, you will learn the fundamentals of the pottery wheel:
centering clay \u2014the most important skill\u2014, throwing basic forms such as cylinders and bowls, and trimming your pieces to refine and finish them.<\/p>\n

In module 2,<\/strong> you will move towards an intermediate level, working on more complex forms and developing greater technical control.<\/p>\n

Throughout the course, you will also learn how to glaze your pieces, completing the full ceramic process.<\/p>\n

We work with high-temperature stoneware and glazes suitable for everyday use, so the pieces you create can become part of your daily life.<\/p>\n

No previous experience is required.<\/p>\n

W<\/strong>hat you will learn in this course<\/h3>\n

In module 1,<\/strong> you will learn to center (the most important skill in wheel throwing), throw (shape the piece) and trim (finish it and create the foot) different forms:<\/p>\n

\u2705 Cylinders (the base of any piece),
\u2705 Bowls,
\u2705 Narrow-neck forms
\u2705 You will learn how to attach handles\u2026<\/p>\n

And in module 2<\/strong>, we will take you to the next level in wheel throwing. This is what you will learn:<\/p>\n

\u2705 Review of centering: how to center larger amounts of clay
\u2705 Lidded pieces
\u2705 Closed forms
\u2705 Open forms
\u2705 Medium-sized pieces
\u2705 Clay wedging and recycling.<\/p>\n

A selection of 6 pieces from module 1 and 2 pieces from module 2 (all chosen by you) will be fired. On the assigned Friday, you will learn some ceramic glazing techniques to decorate and finish your pieces.<\/p>\n

You will be able to collect your finished pieces within 2 weeks after the glazing session. All pieces are suitable for everyday use (and very brave \u2014 they are not afraid of the microwave or the dishwasher!).<\/p>\n

Price:<\/strong> 490\u20ac\/all included.<\/p>\n

Schedule:<\/strong> Module 1: Monday to Thursday; Module 2: Monday to Wednesday<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 both taking place from 10 am to 2 pm. Dates throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Glazing class:<\/span> Friday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Date to be confirmed.<\/em>
